Set upon one of San Blas’ largest coral reefs, Akwadupe Lodge Hotel offers the rustic tranquility of an uninhabited island combined with modern conveniences reminiscent of home. All seven lodges sit perched over the ocean offering you postcard perfect panoramic views of the Gulf bay and the distant coastal rain forest of the Panamanian mainland. Behind you, the coconut trees sway in the warm Caribbean breeze while beneath your feet, warm ocean waves lap gently on white sand shores.

Development of the island has been restricted to a small area allowing you to feel like you have stepped into a timeless paradise. Once you walk the plank to your exclusive private cabaña you will find a bright, spacious, airy, room with hardwood floors, two double beds and a sitting area. A screened door leads out to a deck where you can relax in a hammock or sit and lose yourself in the unique beauty of San Blas. The bathroom features a fully tiled shower, sink and flush toilets. All cabañas are outfitted with ceiling fans and solar powered lights.

At meal time you only need to walk across the landscaped grass to the dining room nestled amongst coconut trees. Here under the breezy high ceiling of a large palapa, the Kuna chefs make their traditional seafood dishes all freshly caught and prepared in a modern, hygienically designed kitchen.

Once you’ve done exploring the island or after experiencing one of the many activities the Kunas offer you can relax in the shade under one of the many bohios.
Akwadup Lodge Hotel provides a seamless blend of rustic beauty and personal comfort for you to enjoy this San Blas island paradise.

How To Get There

Option 1:
To get to Akwadup Lodge we recommend you to go by air, it takes just 40 minutes for the flight from Albrook, Panama City to Achutupu or adjacent Mamitupu airport in the San Blas islands.
Right now it is not possible,or at least very difficult to make reservations through their website or their e-mail. We can assist you with the flight reservations, we only need the name of the passengers, gender and nationality. Flights usually depart from Panama City to Achutupu at 6:00 a.m. Remember to go with your passport to the Marcos A. Gelabet Airport (Albrook).
Cost of flight: $162.16 round trip per person + $20pp booking fee. Remember to make the airfare reservation a month or two in advance where possible, as availability is limited.

Option 2:
You can get to Akwadup Lodge by boat too, it takes 4 hours (in the boat) and 2 and a half hour in a car.
The cost is $30pp (car) and $55pp (boat). This option is recommended for people who wish to visit the Lodge for more than 2 nights. This really should be a last resort as the boat trip can take longer and is often a rough and somewhat unpleasant journey and really eats into your time on the islands.
